Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Conveyancer to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing real estate transactions from beginning to end, ensuring all legal documentation is accurate and compliant, and facilitating smooth property transactions for clients. You will work closely with lawyers, legal assistants, clients, lenders, and real estate professionals.
Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help streamline conveyancing procedures, providing exceptional service to our clients throughout every stage of property dealings. Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage residential purchase, sale, refinance and transfer files from opening through completion and final reporting.
- Review contracts of purchase and sale, mortgage instructions, title searches, tax information and other supporting documentation.
- Conduct title and property searches to confirm ownership, charges, encumbrances and other relevant information.
- Prepare conveyancing and closing documents, including statements of adjustments, trust reconciliations and related correspondence.
- Prepare, submit and monitor Land Title Office documentation through BC’s electronic filing systems.
- Coordinate the receipt and disbursement of funds and ensure all funding and completion requirements are met within established deadlines.
- Communicate professionally and proactively with clients, real estate professionals, lenders, opposing counsel and other parties throughout each transaction.
- Identify potential concerns, discrepancies or risks and bring them to the responsible lawyer’s attention promptly.
- Maintain organized, accurate and complete electronic and physical file records in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare final reports to clients and lenders, reporting packages and accounts.
- Provide regular file-status updates to the responsible lawyer and ensure all critical dates and conditions are monitored.
- Assist lawyers with complex residential, commercial real estate or development matters, as required.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide reasonable coverage during employee absences and peak periods.
- Protect client confidentiality and handle all information and funds with accuracy, discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- A minimum of three years of residential conveyancing experience, preferably within British Columbia.
- Strong knowledge of BC residential real estate transactions, conveyancing procedures and Land Title Office requirements.
- Experience using conveyancing software and BC electronic filing and search platforms, including myLTSA and BC Online.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple files, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prepare and review legal and financial documents accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, real estate professionals, lenders, opposing counsel and internal team members.
- Sound judgment and the ability to identify discrepancies or concerns requiring review by the responsible lawyer.
- Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and excellent client service.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
