Job Summary:

We are looking for our next early-morning superstar to lead our daily bake at Bean + Co.!

Our Baker is the first in the kitchen each morning and reports directly to the management and ownership team. This individual is passionate about high-quality baked goods, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a hands-on environment.

The Baker will prepare a variety of baked goods, maintain high standards of food quality and safety, and ensure our customers start their day with fresh, beautiful products. This role is essential to creating an exceptional guest experience from the moment we open our doors.

This individual should share an enthusiasm for great product, creativity, craftsmanship, and consistency, setting the tone for the entire day and supporting the team with positivity and pride in their work. We love to reward our staff for their dedication and excellence!

Job Type & Compensation:

Days:
Shift: 4:00am-12:00pm
Part-time with room to grow and Full-Time available
$21-$26/hour (based on experience)

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of baked goods
Arrive on time for early-morning shifts, ensuring all baked goods are ready for opening.
Maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all products.
Manage daily baking schedule, production lists, and prep requirements.
Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies; communicate ordering needs.
Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
Operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and small appliances.
Label and rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
Communicate clearly and positively with team members.
Assist with seasonal menu development and testing as needed.
Support kitchen organization, cleanliness, and general workflow throughout the day.
Be an amazing team player, help where needed, and uphold the core values of Bean + Co.
Maintain high standards of quality control, food safety, and fun!

Skills & requirements

Previous baking or pastry experience an asset
Strong understanding of baking techniques and kitchen safety
Ability to follow recipes with precision and consistency
Excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently during early shifts
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and bend, lift, and carry objects weighing approximately 25–50 lbs.

Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
