What You'll Be Doing
As Bar Manager, you'll be the driving force behind one of Whistler's favourite gathering places. You'll lead from the front, inspire your team, and ensure every guest leaves already planning their next visit.
Leading the Pub
- Oversee all day-to-day bar and restaurant operations
- Lead a team of 50+ staff members, including running the day to day operations of the restaurant
- Manage liquor purchasing, inventory, and seasonal beverage programming
- Develop exciting beer, wine, and cocktail offerings that keep guests coming back
- Drive sales through team member engagement, product knowledge, and premium offerings
- Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and operational excellence
- Monitor cash controls, FoodSafe practices, and compliance requirements
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs to keep the pub operating at its best
- Support marketing initiatives, social media content, and community engagement
Building an Amazing Team
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture
- Lead performance conversations and provide ongoing feedback
- Create team recognition programs, staff events, and engagement initiatives
- Be a visible leader who motivates by example
Creating Memorable Guest Experiences
- Champion genuine hospitality and exceptional service
- Handle guest feedback professionally and effectively
- Ensure service standards are consistently delivered
- Plan and execute events, beer features, fundraisers, and community initiatives that keep The Beacon connected to Whistler's vibrant local scene
What We're Looking For
- Previous leadership experience in a busy pub, bar, or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and current beverage trends
- Experience working within liquor-primary and food-primary licensed establishments
- Serving It Right certification
- Experience with POS and scheduling systems (Squirrel, Moneris, 7shifts considered an asset)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- A passion for hospitality and creating positive team cultures
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings energy, accountability, and enthusiasm to work every day

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
