Our client is a well-established automation and custom equipment organization supporting manufacturing, tooling, automation, and process-improvement projects within major automotive production environments.
This opportunity is ideal for a practical Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, customer interaction, equipment improvement, and working closely with both engineering teams and production environments. The right person will also bring the maturity, initiative, and communication ability to grow into broader project, technical, or team leadership responsibilities over time.
Who this role is for
This opportunity is well suited to a Mechanical Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technologist who:

- Enjoys solving real-world mechanical and process challenges
- Values ownership, flexibility, and project variety
- Combines strong technical capability with professionalism and people skills
- Has the maturity, initiative, and ownership mindset to grow into broader project, technical, or team leadership responsibilities over time
This is not a highly siloed CAD-only design role.

- Coordinate with controls and technical teams where automation or controls-related updates are required
- Assist with equipment retooling and process standardization initiatives
- Support technical presentations, documentation reviews, and internal/customer-facing communication
- Participate in varied automation and custom equipment projects across the business

- Opportunity to grow into broader project leadership, technical leadership, or team leadership responsibilities over time
- Approximate salary range of $82,000 to $95,000 depending on experience and overall fit
- Collaborative, team-oriented engineering and manufacturing environment with ongoing project variety
- Benefits package including dental coverage, extended health care, company events, and RRSP matching
