Chabot is Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment Operators for 2026 season: Excavator, Dozer (finishing), Loader (pits & jobsites), Crusher Operators, Rock Truck
Location: Various: Oakbank, Winnipeg, Selkirk, MB
Qualifications:
- Previous experience required: minimum 2 years
- Reliable transportation and valid class 5 driver’s license required; no bus route access
- Applicants must have: steel-toe CSA safety footwear, hard hat
- Physically capable without restrictions to complete repetitive tasks
- Able to work 10 hours or more per shift
- Able to work outdoors 10 hours or more
- Mentally alert and professional
- Mechanical aptitude an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate Heavy Equipment for Construction projects
- Follow safety procedures for operation of Heavy Equipment controls
- Perform pre-op and post-op inspection of equipment
- Complete daily maintenance and minor repairs of equipment
- Record inspection information, hours and fuel expenditure
- Communicate with Supervisor and other workers by means of wireless devices and hand signals
- Report any incidents to Supervisor
- Follow all appropriate industry regulations and best practices
- Report serious mechanical problems to the maintenance department
- Keep machine and associated equipment tidy and in good working order
- Perform construction work on jobsites as part of completing heavy construction projects
