$12.80 was my starting hourly wage when the minimum in Vancouver was $10.50

High season (summer and winter break) was when it got busy, and the other months were pretty slow and chill. You must be a patient person because people will ask you the same questions over and over again. There will be a few complaints. Most are easy to handle, and difficult ones are covered by Supervisors. 

I worked there for 3 years and I have to say work culture was stellar. All the supervisors were very professional, kind, and caring for their employees. They were always asking how I was and making sure my needs were met. Supervisors were our friends, and all the closing staff often went to grab food together after work. 

Staff parties full of fun games, prizes, and tons of free food were held at the end of the summer season and at the start of the year. You were also recognized for your hard work at these events. 
Fun weekly games, contests, and decorations are also set up in the staff room for us to enjoy. Birthday cards are sent to you, gift cards, chocolate, free tickets to all sorts of places could be won/gifted to you. They really gifted us a lot of nice stuff!

Everyone is respectful of each other. Just like the diverse guests, you will meet a variety of people with many different backgrounds working with you! If you have a problem, you can always trust to tell a Supervisor. Went 2 minutes past your shift end time dealing with a guest? Supervisor will urge you to go home and they would deal with the current situation! I personally had no complaints working there. I loved working at FlyOver :)

Working at FlyOver Canada has been nice with great coworkers and lots of laughs. Unfortunately, talking to management isn't easy, there’s one supervisor who tries to be fun but falls short on professionalism.

The pay is pretty low, especially given how expensive it is to live in Vancouver. It feels like management doesn't really care about the workers, and the wages don't match the cost of living.

Despite the challenges, I'm sticking around mainly because of the friends I've made. It's full-time on paper, but I'm only getting 29 hours a week.

The company seems to have a lot of favoritism going on. If you're well-liked, you get more opportunities to move up, even if you might not be the most qualified. It looks like this might be happening with another supervisor.

If you don't have other options, you could consider applying here, but don't expect it to be a dream job. I'd recommend looking for something else if you can.

A typical day includes assisting guests with any questions and helping them receive the best experience in the rides offered. Communication is critical as the schedule and the entire operation is time sensitive. As a Guest Experience Guide, you can be placed in any position depending on necessity, one day you can work in the gift shop, the next selling tickets and etc. Management and the culture are quite positive as the people I worked with are encouraging and supportive of my decisions and approve of my attitude. Overall, it was a good work environment to gain experience for a summer job.

(2015- 2019)Working at flyover was a great experience. I met amazing people, and the supervisors at that time were the best. They always organized plans to go
Out after job and we always enjoyed going out together everywhere. The culture of the team was great. And the flexibility to give away your shifts or  swipe them with your coworkers was making life way easier. Also I was able to book unpaid leave for vacations or whatever. 
The salary should improve a little because was not enough. Salary should be at least 3/ 4 dollars more than minimum wage and I’d give them 5 stars. 

I loved the time that I worked at Flyover Canada. I learned a lot of customer service skills and developed my English a lot. The hardest part was long hours standing by and/or walking around, going up and down stairs all the time. Also, the salary was one of the reasons that made me leave. But the best part was interacting with the guests and seeing how happy they were after the ride! I loved being part of the guest experience. 

Everyone hugs each other when meet, supportive from every level within the organization, operation teams, supervisors are always there when you need them, very lovely place to work with.

The wages are the lowest compared to other tourism employers. The general manager is not empathetic with employees and if she doesn’t like you there is no room for advancement in the company.

Very welcoming company, everyone is nice and usually gets along with each other. It is a lot of work but is pretty good for experience. Lots of things to do when you work here.

The company likes to cultivate their employees to their best potential. Constantly lifting them up, if you're willing to try and be a part of the team, they'll support you. Benefits are great, opportunities are great, pay is low.
