The turn over rate is horrendous, within the past 5 months, we have had 6 people leave just for the front staff at our office. All of our brokers, management and front staff are actively looking for another job. This job is good for students going through university, especially if they are going into insurance. Knightatcher is not bad for the first year, but everything gets dumped on you, you’re expected to know everything, the training there is horrible and it is not the people who are training you that is the issue, there just is not enough people to do the training. Your managers cannot figure something out? Well, now it is your problem.  I understand wanting to push forward with to become a better company, but they do not care about their employees, expect a select few and you’re lucky if you get them. Knightarcher expects you to do the work of 2 full time people and still get upset if you do something they do not like or if the phones are not picked up enough. The phone call system is horrible, customer will call the harbour landing location but all four offices will ring and whichever office answers first then gets the call, having to explain that to customers who only want to deal with the location they called is draining. You will be expected to still help customers after your shift ends and you will still be expected if someone walks in while your co-worker helps the last customer even when it is past closing time, all unpaid and barely any overtime. If you put in extra time then you have to go through HR to get overtime approved which barely happens, instead they say come in late or take extra time in your break, which you never get to do if you are short staffed. Even when you pick up everything for being short staffed, you do not get a raise, I had to fight for my raise after I have had to pick up being the back up supervisor due to ours being lazy and working there for two years and I got an extra .50 cents. You could do your job perfectly and still do more, but it never seems to be enough and your managers will get weekly emails on what you could have done better, there is no satisfying anyone in high up management. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Regardless of where you are at in your career, this is a great company to work for. I started out as a student, new to the industry and I feel that I received good training as well as excellent mentoring as the job progressed into a career. It's a very diverse workplace too. 

No doubt, this is a busy workplace, and Knight Archer places a great deal of importance on customer service so its not well suited for someone who just wants to coast, better suited for a person who wants to great training and have an opportunity to build a book of business. The offices are open evenings and weekends, which was great when I was a student but is not my favourite aspect of the job. On the other hand, at this point in my career I don't work them very often, I just have to take my turn once a month or so, and that's part of being a team.  

One notable thing is that they really treat their employees well - good pay and benefits, and they do a lot of the small things that workplaces just don't do much anymore - Christmas bonuses, generous Christmas gifts for staff (I chose a Wii one year, a camera another....), staff events, free lunches, they take the time to buy cake and more importantly take a moment out to celebrate each of the staffs birthdays. Little stuff.

Worst part of being an MLI is the customers you get, because those customers are everybody. Rarely will people give a thought about being courteous and walk in one minute to close with thousands of dollars in cash. People walk in angry about their own problems with SGI, and because you are the connection between them and the head office in Regina, you get the heat. 
Coworkers are usually nice enough, but some have a nasty habit of being passive aggressive and talking behind your back, and don’t pull their own weight. Brokers don’t like being brokers. At the end of the day the biggest problem is that they are always too understaffed for the busy location they’ve chosen, and it makes everyone else exhausted and numb.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management there is really on point. They are supportive and understanding. Open communication. Team atmosphere.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Work load is certainly overwhelming.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Team spirit. Appreciation lunches. Respect. Its great!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start my day by checking and responding to emails, looking over my activity list to see what needs to get done, submit applications, work on quotes, process policy changes, answer phone calls throughout the day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Building relationships with coworkers and everyone helping each other when help was needed.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Overworked and not appreciated. They expect you do the work of 4+ employees as well as your work too.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible leadership. Never available to listen to their employees and just fire people randomly and say "due to no cause".

Hectic and over worked for less pay.

Knight Archer was the worst job experience I have had. The turn over rate says everything about them. They don’t care or support their staff. They will throw staff under the bus all the time. They keep giving you more work and shovelling more onto your schedule. You’ll be expected to do your job completely as well as the next persons because they are short staffed. You’ll have the workload of 2 full time people and be expected to complete everything.


The workplace was welcoming and good for building teamwork. This is a good place to get your foot in the insurance industry. 

However, the turnover rate needs to be improved. Management needs to step up and support their front staff and brokers instead of focusing on moving bodies within management roles. Within one year, I had gone through 3 different managers. 

Productive and fun work place. Had a very good manager ready to train and assist to you.
Very good co workers and enjoyed the Christmas party and gifts. Overall a good place to work. I only left because I was moving from the Province

a day of work where you learn everyday.Workplace is with diversity hardest part of the job is how you will make people happy when they left the store. The most enjoyable part is having a great team that works together and help each other.
