From the interview to the point I was fully licensed it was a fabulous experience working with the brokers and onboarding coach. They really motivated me and had me ready to bust out the gates and be a top tier Realtor. Little did I know, majority of what they say in the onboarding process was undeniably jargon. I was told about the minuscule monthly desk cost, which I thought was quite manageable with the abundance of leads I was promised (though confusing at the same time since the office was closed to us and the public for most of covid, being my entire tenure here, I figured them remunerating half of my commission would be sufficient in itself). I was told during the interview process I would receive “more qualified leads than elsewhere.” The joke was on me, a year with the firm and I did not receive one qualified lead from the office, majority I received weren’t even in the same city as me, just some AI generated junk from someone with no intentions on buying or selling. I was finally able to get my first sale, awarded with keeping a few hundred dollars, the rest of my cut of the commission taken to pay for ‘backlogged desk fees.’ I went to management about my issues and was told to listen to different music, read a book and knock on randoms doors all day amidst a Canadian winter until someone said they were buying or selling. Only when I made clear that I was not satisfied with the back burner role I was on did I receive 3 calls from potential clients in one day, it was close to two months before that point since I had received any, oddly suspicious in my opinion considering I was told all the agents are on a 'sequential lead rotation.’ The onboarding coach was a great person, would call me every few weeks to see how I was doing, but he never had enough authority to change the lead structure. The secretaries were great too, but had no control over operations either. The agents were selfish, I was hoping to get a couple partnership projects to boost my experience upon my startup and not one Realtor reached out to me, nor replied to any of my emails. After so long, no leads were coming in and desk fees were adding up so I was left with no choice other than to turnover. One agent reached out to me to ask how everything was going, the others were likely glad to see me go, less competition for them. I do understand the difficulties of entering the real estate business, I experienced it all and then some, though my experience with Remax felt like a manipulative money gouge. I would recommend literally any other broker.

This company does not care for their staff. They pay their staff low salaries and expect them to carry a lot of weight. This company does not even pay for a full 40 hour work week - 37.5 hours to be exact. They do not pay for lunches - but expect you to stay in the office. The agents are expected to pay an arm and a leg as a monthly fee, but they penny pinch the staff members' salaries. There is really no support from management. Head Office is very slow when it comes to processing deals and cheques and barely follow up with their agents. There is very little support for their agents who pay so much money to be there. There is absolutely no room for growth in the company, absolutely no job culture. A pay increase for me was a measly 35 cents and that was for a "promotion." I have found a new job ever since. The company is very bitter when people leave but they don't seem to realize that it is because they do nothing for their staff. They will humiliate their staff members by walking them out earlier than their resignation date, leaving the agents short-staffed and with no support. All the money made stays at the top. I truly believe that the only people who make a decent pay salary and benefits are the people at head office because they have been there for years and NO ONE in their right mind would work somewhere for X amount of years below the poverty line. The only thing I liked about working for the company was it prepared me for a REAL job and I am happy to have worked with the awesome agents who are apart of the brokerage. It is very upsetting that there is no job culture and very little incentive to wake up in the mornings and go to work. Before applying, make sure you are prepared to make a salary below the poverty line so the company saves themselves money on taxes.

My experience at RE/MAX Millennium was hands down the most unprofessional workplace I’ve ever been part of. The environment constantly tries to present itself as polished and “Canadian corporate,” but the internal culture couldn’t be further from it. Pretending to offer a progressive, supportive workspace while operating with outdated, hierarchical attitudes does not fool anyone.

Employees are treated more like subordinates than team members, with little respect for boundaries or basic professional courtesy. There is no real growth, no clear leadership, and no accountability. The management team avoids ownership of their work, yet is quick to shift blame onto others — especially the admin staff. The Admin Manager in particular displays poor leadership and spends more time deflecting responsibility than actually contributing.

HR was no better. It’s the only place I’ve worked where HR consistently failed to acknowledge emails, requests, or important issues. Employees had to chase them just to confirm whether something was received.

This workplace had a serious impact on my mental health - something I’ve never experienced in any previous role. If you value respect, professionalism, and a genuinely supportive environment, look elsewhere. I would only recommend working here if you have absolutely no other option.

There are plenty of brokerages in the GTA that truly practice the professionalism they preach. RE/MAX Millennium is not one of them.

Had a great experience working for the Zurini family at Escarpment. Over the years, this company has become huge, but they still run it like a family business. I was provided excellent training and learned more in a week at their Queenston office than I did in the year I spent at my previous real estate brokerage. Really fun group of people at Queenston, the agents and staff are amazing, very much a family setting. You will have real estste fluency in no time. Expect to be held accountable for errors, as you're working with people's homes and livelihoods. My wage was very competitive for the industry. One thing that this company does in terms of taking care of their people that I have not seen elsewhere is if there is a blizzard outside and the roads are unsafe, they will close the offices rather than force their staff to drive in dangerous conditions. With Covid now I'm sure they just switch to WFH, but when I worked there, there was no such thing, and they literally just called people at 7am and told them to stay safe at home. If you're looking for a workplace where the respect is mutual, this is it. I moved to another city from which I couldn't reasonably commute, otherwise I would still be there!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best working experience ever! So much support from all departments, not to mention about the epic trainings & opportunities with diversity experiences I had working under Remax brand over 25 years. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress with the company, realtors are independent contractors. We are all accountable for ourselves. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Like one big family, there’s always support there whenever needed. ReMax is an international company, conventions take places global all year round. Being able to meet agents all over the world & to share our knowledge / working system to learn different ways of operation has been eye opener. Friends I made along the way have enriched my life, I truly cherished & appreciated their friendship that continues after my retirement. I strongly recommend ReMax brand to anyone who wishes to have the same experience I had & appreciated over the years. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyday is a new day / experience.

I would arrive at work at 7:00 am and coordinate with drivers who were parking in the private lot. I would methodically position the cars so as to optimize the space provided to me. After patrolling and cleaning the 3 parking lots I was assigned I would issue parking tickets to vehicles which were parked in the lot without consent. I would then go on delivery to various homes for sale by the Oulahen team. I would drop of shipments of brochures or deliver files to various Post offices across Brampton and Toronto. I would then return and mow the lawns of homes for sale. 

I learned that it is best to remain calm in the face of angry customers. I also learned about time management and prioritizing each day when I had multiple things to do in a short amount of time. 

The hardest part of the job was listening to people shout at me over the parking ticket I issued them. 
The most enjoyable part was the feedback I would get back from my management.

I worked for Tyler for 2.5 years- first at the Connex office and then at his new Escarpment office and he has built something pretty incredible that both the agents and staff are lucky to be a part of. They are big on family, and you can expect to be treated like family. The office itself is beautiful, lots of space, very comfortable. There is no micro-management, expect to work independently a lot of the time which means you need to be a self-starter with a ton of initiative. They're open and respectful of discussions about new systems/processes on the admin side. Tyler is a very high volume agent, plus the rest of the team, be prepared to work hard at a very fast pace and expect to meet multiple deadlines at once. You should have a solid, experienced understanding of real estate, deals and listings prior to working there if you're taking on a senior admin spot, could be very overwhelming otherwise. Great place to grow and develop longterm, lots of support, a fun and thoughtful team, with some very cute office pooches as well. 

In a profession that is highly dominated by professionals with years of experience, achieving success is daunting and it takes a lot of time and money to even begin to establish your name.  
The only time that there is any kind of work/life balance is when you don't have any business in the works.  If you desire to make a living in Real Estate, your life needs to be in constant flux, and making any kind of outside commitment is impossible.
The culture is very competitive and while the people are friendly on the surface, they are not cheering for you to succeed.  
There is no salary, and while you can easily work well over a year with a client, there is no remuneration until a transaction has successfully closed.
None of this is specifically aimed at the office in which I work.  It is unfortunately the nature of the business.

I learned what it waas like working in a more professional environment. I had to be very precise with details and learned how to multi-task quite well. The job required a lot of multi-tasking which was a good experience. I was mainly working by myself which was also a new experience for me, but I enjoyed occasionally working with some of my co-workers. I would say the hardest part of the job was the beginning, learning to do everything on my own. I was nervous about being the only one in my area, so I would not have someone right there beside me if things went wrong. Yet, I also enjoyed the freedom as I had my own space to work freely. It was a good learning experience for me, as I am used to working regularly with others. However, it taught me that I can be flexible and work in an environment that is both independent and group oriented.

It has been an excellent experience working as an office assistant at Re/Max Legacy.
My hours depended on the work and deadlines.But other times it was flexible.
I learnt softwares that I found both challenging and interesting. I managed the entire office duties such as filing, updating database calling existing and new clients.I found it extremely envirogating to make videos of listed homes and put ads on Kijiji. It enhanced my communication through artistic representation.
I was the personal assistant to my employer who was understanding and happy with my commitment towards my job. I always finished my assignments way before the deadline.
The most enjoyable part of my job was making videos, uploading articles on websites and talking to people.
As much as I enjoyed the job,often, I would end up working during my time out of the office and this greatly interfered with my personal life.
