Windermere House

This resort is very busy in the summer and very slow in the winter. If you are a college student looking to earn as much as you can and work an unlimited number of hours, then you'll do great. As long as you plan on only being here for a few months, you'll probably enjoy it. If you plan on working here longer, expect little to no hours in the winter (maybe even a lay off), but if you're management, expect to work 60-70+ hours a week no matter what. With a skewed lieu policy and management that prioritizes revenue over function. 

I worked at Windermeres pub last summer and had a great experience. My mum was undergoing chemotherapy which made me a less than ideal employee in terms of last minute rescheduling needs and unexpected vacation days. The management was always accomodating to my personal needs without question. It was my first serving job and though the restaurant wasnt as busy as previous years (so I heard) it was a great fit for me as I had two jobs. I had great coworkers which helps and I would definitely go back to working there if I moved back to the area.

Leaving after each shift. Toxic environment

Showing up to see the same miserable management each shift

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic and cleekish. Made for an unpleasant shift

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressfull due to lack of communication and organization from the top

I love my coworkers, management is a hit or miss. Felt like we were not valued as workers or poeple. Especially people in F&B feel kinda thrown around.

On-site housing was ok at best and disgusting at worst, food was repetitive and also hit and miss

Typical day clean rooms us common areas when done help with laundry. When finished I always went to see if anything else needed to be done before leaving.

At an earlier stage I could see this being a fun place to work with many facilities for guests to use, but this resort has just turned into a wedding venue. Very menial jobs with long hours depending on if there is a wedding or not. 

Loved working there amazing people!! Worked there for one summer and wish it could have been longer! Only reason I had to leave was fro school and I needed the max amount of money I could get! Great people to work for!

i enjoyed working here for the most part i just wish it wasn't a seasonal position at the time. the people were friendly and it was a beautiful place to work.

Very poor management and terrible staff accommodations. Would not recommend anyone to work here. Management blames staff for all problems and holds no accountability to themselves.  

Wouldn’t return.
Extremely poor management that insists on speaking to staff in a condescending manner.
Disrespectful.
Poorly organized.
Not an enjoyable work experience.
