About Gerry’s Roofing & Siding
Gerry’s Roofing & Siding has been serving homeowners for over 45 years by providing trustworthy service, excellent workmanship, and beautiful exterior renovation results.
We specialize in residential roofing, siding, eavestrough, windows, doors, skylights, and bathrooms. We are a growing company with a strong reputation in the Hamilton and surrounding area, and we are building the leadership team required to scale aggresively over the next 3-5 years.
We are looking for a true Production Manager, someone who can lead the entire production department, protect gross margin, improve customer experience, hold crews accountable, and build scalable systems.
This is not just a project coordination role. This is a leadership role for someone who can run Production with ownership, discipline, and excellence.
The Opportunity
The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that sold work is installed profitably, on schedule, to quality standard, and with an excellent customer experience.
The right person will be proactive, organized, accurate, steady under pressure, and committed to high standards. You should be able to lead people, manage details, solve problems quickly, and build trust with customers, crews, sales, finance, and company leadership.
You should treat every project as if it were being completed on your own family home.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership
- Lead the production department and take ownership of day-to-day production results
- Build, improve, and enforce production systems, checklists, and processes
- Manage production priorities, schedules, crews, subcontractors, materials, and job flow
- Hold crew leaders, installers, subcontractors, and internal team members accountable
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively solve problems before they affect customers, timelines, or profit
- Communicate clearly with ownership and the leadership team regarding production performance, risks, and priorities
Production Scheduling and Execution
- Plan, execute, and manage residential exterior projects from pre-production through completion
- Maintain a reliable 2–4 week production schedule
- Ensure labour, materials, equipment, dumpsters, and job information are ready before project start
- Determine and allocate required manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources
- Coordinate daily with crew leaders to confirm job readiness, site progress, quality, and issues
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to company quality standards
Gross Profit and Job Costing
- Maximize gross profit on each project
- Minimize avoidable costs, waste, rework, and delays
- Review estimates, work orders, and quantity take-offs for accuracy before production begins
- Monitor estimated vs. actual costs for labour, materials, subcontractors, disposal, and extras
- Identify margin issues quickly and implement corrective action
- Work closely with Sales and Finance to improve job costing accuracy and profitability
Customer Experience
- Ensure homeowners receive clear, professional communication before, during, and after their project
- Goal of 100% customer satisfaction
- Meet with homeowners before project start when required to confirm scope, expectations, and site details
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed quickly and professionally
- Complete final inspections after project completion to confirm company standards have been met
- Support the company’s goal of excellent reviews, repeat customers, and referrals
Quality, Rework, and Warranty
- Conduct site checks to monitor quality, progress, safety, and cleanliness
- Ensure installers meet company standards of excellence
- Track rework, callbacks, deficiencies, warranty issues, and customer complaints
- Identify root causes of repeat issues and implement process improvements
- Ensure all jobs are properly closed out with photos, documentation, warranty information, and final quality checks
- Maintain the fleet of the complete company
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable building codes
- Promote a safe, clean, professional jobsite culture
- Address unsafe practices or quality concerns immediately
