We are currently seeking a Purchasing Data Coordinator to fill an 18-month contract at our Burnaby location, part of our Purity Life Grocery division.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Data Coordinator generates, maintains, analyses, and develops reports mainly arising from the Purchasing Department, and also connected to Marketing and Sales.

The primary task of the Data Coordinator is working in Excel spreadsheets - manipulating data and providing information for the purchasing department and other internal departments. They also coordinate information and files regarding product costing and promotions and are responsible for accuracy and maintenance of specific data files. They play a part in ensuring data in the ERP system is maintained and accurate, including creating and running data queries and coordinating uploads with IT when needed. They support the Buyers by setting up data files, with as much pre-filled data as possible to speed up the completion of these files, as well as coordinate and disseminate information to and amongst various departments. They assist the Purchasing Department to meet deadlines for information flow, as well as maintain various reports and perform other administrative tasks as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication + Information Coordination

Communicate and maintain deadline schedules as appropriate, ensuring they are kept on track
Coordinate communication for show deals and deadlines
Provide technical support to Buyers and other Purity employees with completing files and excel functions, formulas and trouble shooting
Work with Sales to obtain input on new items and update the shared file for the Buyers

Reporting + File Management

Responsible for updating reports and files daily for Buyers and other internal partners to use in their daily work
Act as a Query Manager super user and provide support and custom reports to all Purity Grocery departments upon request
Coordinate Qlikview reports with developer

Data File Maintenance

File maintenance for several files including: price changes, monthly specials, casestacks and new products
File maintenance tasks include data entry and updates, creating spreadsheets, distributing files to Buyers and other Horizon departments, merging data, formatting reports, generating new costing sheets, reviewing files for errors, ensuring formula consistency, making corrections.

Other duties: as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:

Excellent organizational and administrative skills and ability to handle a variety of tasks
Strong computer skills including MS Outlook and Office
MUST HAVE advanced Excel experience and be very comfortable navigating spreadsheets
Basic understanding of SQL/Query code writing and generating reports an asset
Proven detail experience - working with reports requiring accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently within deadlines, coordinating information flow with others
Good communicator – with strong verbal and written skills
Experience and/or knowledge of Purchasing activities is beneficial
Post-secondary business-oriented courses or program an asset
At least one (1) year of experience doing similar job tasks

COMPENSATION + WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) and contract (18-month) position. The schedule is Monday to Friday, office hours.
The annual salary is $53, 706, with extended benefits available after 3 months.
