Job Description:
Support the smooth day-to-day execution of TENTE’s supply chain by coordinating purchasing, material replenishment, supplier communication, logistics, inventory activities, and related ERP transactions.
The Supply Chain Coordinator works within the planning parameters and priorities established by the Supply Chain Manager and supports the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator in ensuring materials and products are available to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
This position serves as a key operational link between suppliers, Supply Chain, Operations, Production, Customer Service, Sales, and other internal functions.
Essential Job Function:
Develop planning tool to align and streamline the complexity of our outside service process. Once developed, coordinate and manage activities involved in planning, sourcing, inventory management, outsourced manufacturing and finishing services, customer service, transportation, and product delivery. Ensure timely availability of materials, uninterrupted supply through internal and external processing operations, and compliance with quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms to effectively manage outsourced finishing operations and value-added services, ensuring material availability to support production and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and manage a local milk run transportation network to facilitate the efficient movement of materials between TENTE and external service providers, including plating, painting, coating, heat treatment, machining, assembly, and other contracted operations.
- Follow company purchasing and delivery policies (ISO) and process supplier and service purchase orders in compliance with established procedures.
- Monitor inventory and material requirements against established planning parameters and execute replenishment activities to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Review supplier order confirmations and proactively follow up on open purchase orders, past-due orders, shortages, and delivery commitments.
- Monitor supplier and vendor performance related to delivery, accuracy, quality, and responsiveness; resolve routine issues and escalate significant supplier concerns to the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator or Supply Chain Manager.
- Expedite materials and coordinate recovery actions when shortages or supplier delays threaten production or customer requirements.
- Coordinate and resolve shipment and logistics issues, including imports, customs, delays, damages, freight discrepancies, and other transportation-related concerns while ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
- Support inventory accuracy by monitoring raw materials and other assigned inventory, identifying replenishment needs, investigating discrepancies, and supporting cycle-count and inventory-control activities.
- Maintain accurate supply chain and purchasing data within ERP and other company systems, including purchase orders, supplier information, lead times, order confirmations, and other relevant planning data.
- Set up and maintain part numbers, item master data, and other supply chain-related information within ERP and management systems.
- Process sales orders, receiving documentation, material hold tickets, supplier returns, and other supply chain transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Respond to product and material inquiries from Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Production and coordinate with appropriate functions to support seamless order flow.
- Communicate potential material shortages, supplier delays, inventory concerns, and delivery risks to Supply Chain Manager in a timely manner.
- Support the Director of Supply Chain with supplier follow up, purchasing activities, material availability reviews, inventory analysis, and other departmental priorities as needed.
- Assist with supplier performance tracking and provide information necessary to support supplier reviews, sourcing decisions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support new product introductions, supplier transitions, localization/onshoring initiatives, and other supply chain projects through purchasing, material coordination, ERP maintenance, and supplier follow up.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing, logistics, inventory, and supply chain processes and support implementation of approved improvements.
- Cross-train across purchasing, logistics, inventory control, and other supply chain functions to provide departmental flexibility and operational continuity.
- Participate in special projects, audits, physical inventories, and other duties as assigned.
Relevant Qualifications / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant supply chain, purchasing, materials, inventory, or logistics experience, or a related combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, material replenishment, supplier management, and logistics principles.
- Experience working within an ERP/MRP environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify supply or material issues and proactively communicate and escalate concerns.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, accountable work style.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively across Supply Chain, Operations, Production, Customer Service, Sales, Quality, and other functions.
