Kids ETC is an Early Treatment Center that specializes in providing individualized comprehensive, in-home, one-to-one behavioral intervention to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and serves children with a variety of behavioral, emotional, social and learning difficulties.
The behavioural aide provides individualised behavioural treatments to children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, or disruptive behaviour disorders in their home environment or community settings. We are looking for a behavioral aide to join our team to support children (aged 3 – 10) and their families using behavioural strategies. The behavioural aide will collaborate with a psychology team of professionals trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT). The aide will implement individualized behavioural intervention plans and teach children a variety of skills, including self-care (e.g., feeding, toileting, dressing, brushing teeth), self-regulation, academic, gross/fine motor, communication and language development, play skills, peer interactions and relationships, community engagement, social thinking, and mental health support, under the supervision of a Case Supervisor, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, and a clinical psychologist.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides one – on – one support and capacity in behavioral and clinical services;
- Addresses behavioral management safety needs;
- Supporting emotional and social needs;
- Establish rapport with families and team members;
- Implementing behavioral plans;
- Participate in advanced training and workshops;
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports;
- Participate in developing data collection systems and monitor data collection to ensure the success of the behavior plan;
- Participates in clinic meetings concerning the child’s treatment and progress;
- Adheres to professionalism guidelines (i.e., maintains appropriate and professional interactions with clients, parents, staff, and other individuals, in home, office & community environments);
- Assists in the creating and adapting materials or teaching stimuli;
Ideal Candidate:

- Be comfortable working independently, as well as with a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with children.
- Bachelor-level education in specific field preferred (Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis

Minimal Job Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation (i.e., have a car)
- Must have a current Police Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, and a Child Intervention Record Check upon hire.
- Requires moderate physical activity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Up-to-date certification in Emergency Frist Aide with CPR/AED
- Enrolled in or degree from a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education, or another related field is an asset
- Experience working with children with complex needs is an asset
- Previous experience working with children and/or training in behavioral principles (ABA) is an asset but is not required.

Scheduled hours:
- Preferably availability during the day (Monday through Friday, 8AM-6PM & Saturdays 9 - 3PM)
Training, Workshops, & Socials:
- During the initial hiring period, we provide a structured training curriculum and in-office as well as on-the-job training.
- We conduct monthly workshops to support your continued learning, discuss new teaching procedures, and evaluate recent advances in ABA research.
- We hold leadership and teambuilding workshops/events to facilitate your continued professional and personal development.
Compensation & Benefits:

- Compensation is based on experience and education (hourly range $20-$24)
- Treatment occurs in the child's home; you will be commuting between client homes around Calgary. A portion of your travel time will be compensated
