Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small engine repair and maintenance, with a keen attention to detail. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a team of experienced professionals to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of small engines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests on small engines to identify mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups, to keep engines running smoothly.
- Repair and rebuild small engines, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to pinpoint malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history for each customer's equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic, preferably in a professional repair shop environment.
- Vocational training or certification in small engine repair is required
- Proficiency is welding techniques is considered an asset
- Willingness for on-call doing field repairs throughout summer (daytime) and winter (day, night, weekends based on on-call schedule) as required .
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a thorough understanding of small engine systems and components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve engine issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Effective communication skill with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments.
