About us

Vicano Developments Limited is a Industrial / Commercial Real Estate Developer seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Accounting Administrator to support the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization.

Please note: This is an on-site position. Applicants must currently reside within commuting distance of our office and be legally authorized to work in Canada. We are not accepting applications from candidates residing outside Canada, candidates requiring relocation, or candidates requiring employer sponsorship.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organization, communication, and follow-through are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable, including vendor processing, account reconciliations, payment preparation, payment processing, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
Manage a large volume of utility accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing, posting, and payment.
Review and code expenses by analyzing expense reports and assigning costs to the appropriate accounts.
Process vendor payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying Federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing cheques/ACH payments, and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies.
Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly transactions to ensure accuracy.
Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records.
Upload and scan invoices into accounting/finance software.
Assist with maintaining accurate daily employee time-clock records.
Assist with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing.
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting requirements.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience working as an Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounting Administrator, or in a similar accounting role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and analyze financial data.
Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills when working with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and formatting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and English communication.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.

Additional Assets

The following would be considered an asset:
Experience using Yardi accounting software.
Previous accounts payable or accounting experience within the industrial/commercial real estate development.
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or a related field.
