Heavy Equipment Operators – Cold Lake Air Weapons Range

The Role

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for a local project at the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range.

We are currently hiring:

· 2 Excavator Operators

· 3 Dozer Operators

· 1 Grader Operator

Successful candidates will join our team supporting earthworks and general construction activities in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive hourly wage, negotiable based on experience.

· Overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week.

· 9.6% vacation and statutory holiday pay.

· Optional additional $2.00 per hour through the Healthy Lifestyle Incentive Program, subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

· Extended health, dental, vision, travel, and paramedical coverage after 90 days, with premiums 50% employer paid.

· LTD, AD&D, life insurance, and dependent life insurance after 90 days.

· $300/year health care spending account, pro-rated to the employee's start date.

· Employee Assistance Program and Virtual Health programs.

· RRSP/TFSA matching after 90 days, up to $2,500 per year.

Job Details

· Project Location: Cold Lake Air Weapons Range

· Local project.

· Monday to Saturday.

· 10–12-hour shifts per day.

· Overtime and additional work as required.

· Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

· Fast-paced and active construction environment.

· Steel-toe boots are required.

Education & Qualifications

· Must be 18 years of age or older.

· Minimum 1–2 years of previous experience operating an excavator, dozer, or grader.

· Experience with grading, backfilling, loading, and material hauling.

· Ability to read and understand grade stakes, drawings, and blueprints.

· Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.

· Valid CSTS 2020 certification required. Free online training is available through ACSA.

· Ground Disturbance and First Aid certifications are considered assets.

· Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check and fingerprinting as required for access to the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range/project site.

· Drug and alcohol testing may be required to access certain project sites and/or as a condition of employment.

Safety & Compliance

Employees are expected to:

· Review, understand, and follow all Kichton and project-specific safe work practices and procedures.

· Comply with applicable OH&S regulations and site requirements.

· Complete required FLHAs, inspections, and other safety documentation.

· Participate in toolbox talks and applicable company/site meetings.

· Immediately report incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and hazards to site supervision.

· Comply with all security, screening, and access requirements applicable to the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range.

Site Security Requirements

Due to the location and security requirements of the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range, all successful candidates will be required to complete and successfully pass a criminal record check and fingerprinting/security screening prior to receiving authorization to access the project site. Employment and/or site access may be conditional upon meeting all applicable security requirements.
