About the Role

Horizon Property Management is a growing lawn care, property maintenance, and winter operations company serving the Collingwood and Blue Mountains area. We are a small, hardworking team that takes pride in doing the job right — and we need someone who feels the same way.

This is one full-time, year-round position. You start immediately on late-season lawn care and fall services and when the snow arrives, you move straight into snow clearing operations. We are looking for capable team members on the ground starting right away.

How the Year Works

Now through late fall: Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, fall cleanups, aeration, dethatching, turf services, and general property upkeep. Typical landscape hours are Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays.
Winter: Snow and ice clearing from roads, parking lots, and sidewalks using plow trucks, tractors, snowblowers, and hand tools. This side of the job is weather-driven. You must be available on call 24/7, including nights, weekends, evenings, and holidays. A large share of the work happens overnight during and after storms.
Spring and summer: The landscape season resumes — mowing, horticulture, gardening, grounds maintenance, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces.

What You Will Do

Landscape & property maintenance

Mow, trim, edge, and blow lawns to a high standard
Complete spring and fall cleanups
Perform aeration, dethatching, and other turf services
Assist with gardening, horticulture, and general outdoor upkeep
Follow daily schedules and route assignments
Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely

Snow operations

Operate snow plow trucks, tractors, and other equipment to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and sidewalks
Complete routine daily inspections before operating equipment, including fluid levels and mechanical checks
Use hand tools (shovels) and power tools (snowblowers) for additional clearing as needed
Work with the team to prioritize routes and deliver timely service
Monitor weather forecasts and stay available when snow is expected
Work outdoors in cold conditions, often overnight, with the physical strength the work demands

What We Need

Must live within a 25-minute drive of Collingwood. This is non-negotiable for winter on-call response.
Valid Ontario G licence, clean driving abstract, and reliable personal transportation to and from job sites
At least one season of professional landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
Previous experience in winter works / snow removal operations is REQUIRED
Available to start immediately and commit to the full year
Available on call 24/7 through winter, including nights, weekends, evenings, extended hours, and holidays
Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team, in heat, rain, cold, and overnight conditions
Hands-on aptitude with equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to problem-solve and learn quickly on site
Reliable, proud of finished work, and willing to leave a property looking sharp

Compensation

Pay tracks the season and your experience.

Landscape season: $21–$29/hour based on experience, with consistent full-time hours
Winter season: $25–$30/hour based on experience, plus a $300 weekly stand-by bonus. With the stand-by bonus and storm hours, team members often earn $40+/hour effectively through winter
A flat weekly rate is available as an alternative and can be discussed

Work location: In person — Collingwood and Blue Mountains area.

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44.0 per week
