Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Snow Plow Operator and become a vital part of ensuring safe and accessible pathways during winter storms. In this role, you will operate snow removal equipment to clear roads, parking lots, and walkways efficiently and safely. Your expertise in machinery operation, combined with your proactive approach, will help maintain smooth operations during challenging winter conditions. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to community safety while honing your skills in equipment handling and landscape maintenance.

Duties

Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to clear snow and ice from designated areas such as roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways
Perform routine inspections of plow equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety standards are met
Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and enhance safety
Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on machinery, including hydraulic systems, blades, and power tools used for snow removal
Maintain detailed logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used
Communicate effectively with team members regarding weather conditions, equipment status, and operational needs

Experience

Proven experience operating snow plowing equipment or similar machinery such as excavators or power tools in outdoor environments
Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment and hand tools
Background in landscaping, horticulture, or construction is highly desirable
Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including tree care, lawn mowing, irrigation systems, gardening, and hardscape installation
Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
Strong attention to safety protocols when handling machinery and chemicals like salt or de-icing agents
