Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation (NS Pension) is a growing non-profit corporation dedicated to a wide range of investment, pension administration, and compliance services for two of Nova Scotia’s leading pension plans. In total, we manage more than $15 billion in plan assets, serve over 60 employers and more than 80,000 members, retirees, and survivors.
We administer the pension benefits and investment assets of the Public Service Superannuation Plan and the Teachers’ Pension Plan and administer the pension benefits of the Members’ Retiring Allowances and the three former Sydney Steel pension plans.

Our premises are within the Purdy's Wharf complex which provides amenities such as an on-site daycare and a fitness centre. Our office is connected to the downtown pedway system and situated on Halifax's beautiful waterfront providing easy access to ferry and bus transit hubs, banks, restaurants, and shopping.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Manager, Project Services to join our Pension Division. Reporting to the Chief Pensions Officer (CPO), this role is responsible for managing all divisional system and business projects, including strategic initiatives such as the new line of business, and the onboarding of the Public Superannuation Plan (PSSP). The Manager, Project Services serves as a key representative of the Pension Division and the CPO in discussions and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will develop and manage project plans for all divisional projects, identify critical gaps and recommend risk mitigations, and lead or manage the implementation of these projects. As the primary liaison for the Pension Division on system enhancements and business process initiatives, you will collaborate closely with other divisions across NS Pension to ensure projects are effectively planned, communicated, and implemented, while supporting the division's strategic objectives.
What you need to be successful
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, or a related field, plus a minimum of five years' experience in quality improvement initiatives and projects, ideally in a pensions, benefits administration, or insurance environment. Experience with business, operational, or technology-related projects, preferably in a leadership capacity. A Project Management designation would be considered an asset. An acceptable equivalent combination of training, education, and related experience may be considered.
- A minimum of two years' supervisory experience, with demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and managing performance.
- Demonstrated project experience including developing project plans; managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes; preparing and presenting project status reports and dashboards; communicating progress to stakeholders and governance committees.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a proven ability to understand client needs, build trusted relationships with external partners, employers, and at all levels across the organization. Ability to present complex business, operational, or technical information in a clear and meaningful way to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively, manage competing priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Job Status: Permanent Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
