LN Land Development Technologies is looking for an experienced Construction Surveyor to join our Fort McMurray team .
You'll work on a variety of industrial and heavy civil construction projects, providing accurate field survey support and working closely with project teams to keep work moving safely, efficiently, and accurately.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform construction and industrial field surveying activities
- Complete construction layout, staking, as-builts, topographic surveys, and quantity surveys
- Establish and maintain survey control
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project information
- Collect accurate field data using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and other survey equipment
- Complete field calculations and maintain accurate survey notes and records
- Verify survey information and identify potential discrepancies before they impact construction
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, field crews, and other project personnel
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is used safely and effectively
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
- Support project teams in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality survey information
WHAT YOU BRING
- Previous experience as a Construction Surveyor, Field Surveyor, or similar survey role
- Strong experience with construction layout and field surveying
- Experience working on industrial, heavy civil, earthworks, or large-scale construction projects
- Proficiency with GPS/GNSS and robotic total station equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Strong understanding of survey calculations, control, and construction tolerances
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a project team
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather and site conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace and site safety
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts and various rotations as required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS
- Previous surveying experience on oil sands, mining, industrial, or major heavy civil projects
- Experience with Trimble survey equipment and software
- Civil 3D or related survey software experience
- Diploma or post-secondary education in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related discipline
- Current site-specific safety certifications
- Ground Disturbance Level II is considered an asset

Compensation: $45.00-$50.00 per hour, based on experience

SITE REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract
- CSTS 2020
- CSO
- Standard First Aid with CPR
- H2S Alive
- Ability to meet client site-access requirements, including drug and alcohol testing
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis at the time of application
This is a field-based position supporting industrial and construction projects throughout the Fort McMurray region. Candidates must be comfortable working extended shifts, outdoors, and in active construction environments.
