Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated School Program Staff to join our team in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for children. This is an enhance educator role which involves working closely with children to support their holistic development and foster a love for learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience working with children. You will plan meaningful activities and experiences for children 4-12 years of age in a before and after school setting. Our location has one kindergarten program and two school age programs. This is a split shift role. Hours are set at 6:30 am-9:30 am and 3:00-5:00 pm. This is for a fall contract for September to December 2026, with the ability to extend the contract into the new year and beyond. There is also a possibility of returning earlier for lunch coverage if needed. Full time can be expected in the summer, for PA Days, and over March Break.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities.
Serve a nutritious snack in the morning and in the afternoon
Follow children's individualized support plans
Walk to Ganaraska Trail Public School and/or St. Anthony's Catholic school to drop off and pick up children. There are also two buses that pick up and drop off children before/after school just outside the centre doors.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's participation and engagement.
Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to educators and parents as necessary through Class Dojo
Collaborate with other educators to develop curriculum materials and resources.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities
Understand the expectations of your role as an enhanced educator

Skills

Strong ability to educate and inspire children through engaging teaching methods.
Prior experience working with children in a child care setting is essential.
Background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
Cleanliness
Ability to impliment various ISP strategies for individual children's needs
