Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters in various construction and renovation projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the carpentry and construction industry. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, dependable, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in related trades such as woodworking, handyman services, or construction is a plus but not required.

Duties

Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project execution
Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
Aid in cabinet installation, flooring, tile laying, siding, roofing, and siding projects
Operate hand tools and power tools safely for various carpentry tasks
Assist with woodworking projects including framing, finishing, and assembly of components
Support restoration and remodeling efforts by preparing materials and assisting with surface preparation such as caulking and painting
Help with plumbing and electrical tasks under supervision when necessary
Perform heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of construction concepts; previous handyman or woodworking experience is advantageous
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings is preferred
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding conditions for extended periods
Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
Willingness to learn new skills related to masonry, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, CNC operations, or other specialized trades
Prior experience in construction painting or cabinetry installation is a plus
Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
