Full job description

Commonwealth Financial is seeking a motivated, polished, and professional Executive Assistant who is interested in building a long-term career in the financial services industry.

This is more than a traditional administrative position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience across mortgages, investments, insurance, client relationship management, and business development, while working alongside an experienced financial services team.

As a client-facing member of Commonwealth Financial, you will be expected to represent the firm with a high degree of professionalism in your appearance, communication, conduct, and judgment. Professional business attire and a polished personal presentation are required.

You must have excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with clients, financial institutions, business partners, and colleagues. Strong grammar, professional correspondence skills, telephone etiquette, and the ability to explain information clearly are essential to this position.

You will play an important role in supporting existing client relationships, delivering an exceptional client experience, and helping develop new relationships. As your knowledge, confidence, professional qualifications, and capabilities grow, so will the scope of your responsibilities and opportunities within the firm.

Experience in banking, lending, investments, insurance, financial services, executive support, sales, or client relationship management is considered an asset. More importantly, we are looking for an ambitious individual with strong professional skills, sound judgment, initiative, and a genuine desire to build a career within the financial industry.

The successful candidate will either hold, or be willing to work toward, relevant mortgage, investment, and insurance licensing and professional development required for their evolving role.

The ideal candidate will:

Present themselves professionally and be comfortable in a business-professional environment
Have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Be highly organized, dependable, discreet, and detail-oriented
Communicate confidently with clients and senior professionals
Demonstrate strong judgment and professional maturity
Take initiative and effectively manage competing priorities
Be comfortable developing and maintaining client relationships
Have an interest in mortgages, investments, insurance, wealth management, and financial services
Be motivated to obtain industry licences and professional credentials
Be interested in increasing their responsibilities as their knowledge and capabilities develop
Be looking for a long-term career opportunity, not simply an administrative position
