Job Summary
The Paint Associate is responsible for accurately mixing and tinting paint according to customer specifications and company standards. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service while supporting paint retail and warehouse operations, maintaining inventory, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately mix and tint paint to match customer specifications, color samples, and formula requirements.
- Assist customers with color selection and color matching, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
- Inspect mixed paint for consistency, color accuracy, and overall quality to ensure all products meet company standards before distribution.
- Operate, clean, and maintain paint mixing equipment, including mixers, shakers, and dispensing systems.
- Maintain accurate records of paint formulas, customer orders, and inventory usage.
- Support paint retail and warehouse operations as required, including tinting, shaking, and handling paint and industrial products.
- Retrieve and assemble stock from the garage, basement, warehouse, and shelving areas to fulfill customer and delivery orders efficiently.
- Fulfill customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare paint orders for scheduled deliveries and coordinate with drivers to confirm delivery schedules.
- Ensure paint shelves are fully stocked with all product lines, including gallons, quarts, and pails, across retail, basement, warehouse, and garage storage areas.
- Organize and maintain paint inventory across all storage locations to ensure accuracy, cleanliness, and accessibility.
- Clean, refill, and maintain tinting equipment, including automatic tinting machines (daily) and manual tinting machines (bi-weekly).
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of paint and chemical products.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in paint mixing, color matching, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with good manual dexterity and the ability to work accurately with precision tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of paint properties and color theory is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to lift and move heavy paint containers and equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in paint mixing is an asset.
