Full job description

Part-Time Floating Storage Facility Associate

Locations: St. Catharines & Niagara Falls, Ontario
Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour
Hours: Approximately 14–18 hours per week, with occasional additional hours up to 20 depending on coverage needs
Schedule: Weekday daytime shifts, with some Saturdays
On-site parking

We are looking for a reliable, friendly and self-motivated Part-Time Floating Storage Facility Associate to work between two of our self-storage locations:

Lake Street Mini Storage – St. Catharines
Brockway Mini Storage – Niagara Falls

This is a floating position that provides coverage and assistance at both locations, particularly when regular site managers are away or require additional support.

Weekday shifts will be scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with some Saturday shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, enjoys helping customers and is confident using computers and office software.

Being handy or mechanically inclined is also a strong asset. From time to time, the position may involve minor maintenance tasks such as replacing storage unit door handles or latches, removing or tightening nuts and bolts, and completing other basic maintenance around the properties.

Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries by telephone, email and in person in a polite and professional manner
Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective customers
Rent and lease storage units
Process customer payments using a POS system
Collect rent and applicable fees
Enter reservations and rental leads into customer relationship management (CRM) software
Maintain accurate customer and rental records using SiteLink software; training will be provided
Assist customers with questions regarding their storage units and use of the facility
Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally
Perform daily inspections of the property and storage units
Conduct move-out inspections
Ensure vacant storage units are clean and ready to show or rent
Keep the interior and exterior of the properties clean, safe and presentable
Remove garbage or discarded items from around the property
Communicate with managers, associates at other locations and upper management
Perform minor maintenance and repairs when required and within your ability
Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Fluent in English
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the phone
Comfortable using computers, email, the internet and Microsoft Office
Good keyboarding and data-entry skills
Well organized and detail oriented
Reliable, dependable and self-motivated
Able to exercise good judgment and make decisions independently
Comfortable working with minimal supervision
Previous experience with SiteLink is an asset but is not required
Previous experience in customer service, self-storage, property management, retail or a similar environment is an asset
Basic maintenance or handyman skills are an asset

What We Offer

$18.00–$21.00 per hour

Applicants must be able to reliably travel between our St. Catharines and Niagara Falls locations as required.
