Full job description

At Pallet Coffee Roasters, our goal is to make specialty coffee approachable while sharing a genuine love of great coffee with our community. We are proud to cultivate a team of knowledgeable, engaged professionals who care deeply about craft, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences.

We're looking for a Cafe Manager to build and lead the team at our upcoming new location on Yukon Street!

This role is ideal for someone who loves to lead in a fast-paced environment, values team development, and is committed to delivering exceptional coffee and service standards every day.

What You’ll Do:

Oversee day to day cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Create and manage team schedules based on business needs.
Train, mentor and motivate a high performing team.
Uphold quality control across all food, beverages and service standards.
Prepare speciality coffee beverages, including pour-over.
Deliver outstanding customer service and foster a welcoming environment.
Maintain cafe cleanliness, organization, and basic equipment maintenance.

What You Bring:

A positive, motivating, and team-focused attitude.
Proven cafe or restaurant management experience leading mid-sized teams.
Barista skills in specialty coffee sector and the ability to train others on coffee standards and quality.
Valid FoodSafe level 1 certification (required), Food Safe level 2 is an asset.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
A hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
Experience with scheduling and labour cost management.
Comfort with hiring, training, and developing team.
Ability to stay calm and lead effectively during high-volume periods.
Genuine commitment to hospitality and the guest experience.
Basic comfort with POS systems and reporting.

You are a leader but you aren't afraid to grab a mop or hop on the busy rush when the team needs help.
You pay attention to the little things and you always help your team and truly care about people.
You find it easy to talk to anyone, from a regular customer to a new team member, and enjoy interacting with people.
You take pride in your work.
You’re okay with working weekends, according to operational needs.
