Full job description

Duz Cho is seeking a friendly, dependable, and professional Part-Time / On-Call Receptionist to provide reception and general office support at our Chetwynd, BC office. Join a growing team where your experience and commitment can contribute to a long-term career. Apply today.

Duz Cho is a 100% Indigenous owned company, with ownership belonging to McLeod Lake Indian Band. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous communities. They must have demonstrated experience in applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting, adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are essential.

This position will primarily provide coverage for our full-time Reception & Accounting Assistant when they are assisting other departments, attending meetings, taking breaks, on vacation, or otherwise unavailable to cover the front reception area. The role may also provide additional support during busy periods, company events, or other times when additional office coverage is required.

Location: Chetwynd, BC; 100% In Office not a remote or hybrid role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Greet visitors, employees, customers, vendors, and other guests.
Ensure visitors are directed to the appropriate person or department.
Receive and distribute mail, courier deliveries, and other correspondence.
Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Assist with basic office administration, filing, copying, scanning, and document preparation.
Assist with booking or coordinating travel when required.
Help with company events, meetings, and employee functions as needed.
Assist with maintaining office supplies and company promotional merchandise.
Provide administrative support to other departments as required.
Provide reception coverage during employee absences, meetings, breaks, vacation periods, and

other times when coverage is needed

Qualifications:

Is friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people. Has strong verbal communication and customer service skills. Is dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Is organized and has good attention to detail. Is comfortable answering a multi-line telephone and directing calls. Has basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and other common office applications. Is willing to learn company procedures and office systems. Can maintain confidentiality and use good judgment when dealing with employees, visitors, and company information. Can work 100% in-office in Chetwynd, BC Previous reception, customer service, or administrative experience would be an asset but is not necessarily required.

Hours & Availability: This is a part-time/on-call position, and hours may vary depending on operational needs. The successful candidate should have some flexibility to provide coverage during regular office hours, including for planned absences as well as occasional short-notice coverage.

The position may be well suited to someone looking for flexible, part-time employment who enjoys working with people and being part of a professional office environment. The ideal candidate is approachable, reliable, and comfortable being the first point of contact for our organization. They will understand the importance of maintaining consistent reception coverage and will be able to step into the role when required with a professional and helpful attitude. This role is focused on reception and general administrative support and does not require accounting experience or accounting responsibilities.
