Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks and various heavy equipment to perform excavation, potholing, and utility location tasks. This role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy machinery, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. The Hydrovac Operator plays a critical role in supporting construction projects by providing precise excavation services in a variety of environments.

Duties

Operate hydrovac trucks safely and efficiently to excavate around utilities, pipelines, and other underground infrastructure.
Utilize heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed for site preparation and support tasks.
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal operation.
Assist with horizontal drilling and other construction activities requiring specialized machinery.
Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Coordinate with project managers and crew members to execute excavation plans accurately.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.

Experience

Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks in a construction or utility environment.
Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
Experience with commercial driving is highly desirable.
Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques and excavation safety standards.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory for all positions. This role offers an opportunity for hands-on involvement in large-scale construction projects while utilizing a broad skill set across various types of heavy machinery. Candidates should be committed to maintaining high safety standards and operational excellence throughout their workday.
