Your Opportunity:

The Concurrent Disorder Unit (CDU), opening at the Peter Lougheed Centre, is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant IV to join our multidisciplinary team. The CDU is a twelve-bed inpatient unit intended to support patients with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders. The team will provide evidence-based stabilization and recovery-oriented care for adults requiring medical withdrawal management and acute psychiatric stabilization. This will include both voluntary and involuntary patients. As Administrative Support IV, you will provide advanced administrative and clerical support to the multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include managing confidential health records, coordinating complex schedules, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and organizational policies. You will serve as a key point of contact for staff, families, and external partners, requiring exceptional professionalism and discretion. In addition to administrative duties, you will interact with patients in a respectful and supportive manner, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment, a commitment to continuous learning, and strong self-motivation while prioritizing self-care. You will bring creativity and innovation to problem-solving and process improvement, maintain a culturally competent and equity-informed approach, and uphold ethical conduct and professionalism in all interactions. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of privacy legislation and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact professionally with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment. The role demands adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. This role requires bending, lifting and sitting for periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the Mental Health Services Protection Act.
