DRIVE A PLOW. LEAD A CREW. OWN YOUR ROUTE THIS WINTER.
Monster Plowing Company is hiring Seasonal Snow Plow Operators and Drivers for the 2026–27 winter season.
Whether you are an experienced commercial plow operator or a strong driver looking to learn, Monster has a position designed for your experience level and preferred style of winter work.
ROOKIE OR PRO?
Rookies
Commercial snow plowing experience is not required. If you have a strong driving record, commercial vehicle experience, outdoor-work experience and the right attitude, we can train you to operate a professional plow truck safely and effectively.
Experienced Pros
If you already know how to plow and salt commercial or residential properties in an urban environment, we offer advanced positions, stronger guarantees and wages reaching $41 per hour.
YARD TEAM OR SNIPER TEAM?
Yard Team
Plow during snow and ice events, then complete paid yard, equipment, training and operations-support work between storms.
This is the best track for candidates seeking more regular winter hours and the strongest potential to be considered for available spring and summer employment.
Sniper Team
Focus on plowing, salting and crew leadership when winter weather requires service.
Outside required training and season-opening activities, Sniper Team members are not scheduled for routine yard work. This can suit someone with another occupation, business or flexible commitment—as long as they can reliably report whenever winter weather hits.
CURRENT DRIVER TRACKS
- Rookie Yard Team Leader: $23–$25/hour with a minimum of 60 paid hours guaranteed per month
- Rookie Sniper Team Leader: $25–$29/hour with a minimum of 60 paid hours guaranteed per month
- Pro Yard Team Leader: $25–$29/hour with a minimum of 100 paid hours guaranteed per month
- Veteran Sniper Team Leader: $29–$35/hour with a minimum of 80 paid hours guaranteed per month
- Senior Sniper Team Leader: $35–$41/hour with a minimum of 80 paid hours guaranteed per month
All positions also include:
- 8% vacation pay added on top of your earnings
- Performance bonus eligibility
- Paid training and development
- Guaranteed minimum pay even during quieter weather periods
Your exact wage, guaranteed hours and placement will be determined through Monster’s driver interview and assessment process and confirmed in your written employment offer.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Safely operate a company pickup or medium-duty truck equipped with a commercial snow plow and salt spreader
- Clear and de-ice private roads, parking lots, laneways, driveways and other assigned surfaces
- Learn and remain accountable for a fully mapped route throughout the winter
- Lead or support a small crew of snowfighters, depending on your assignment
- Communicate with dispatch and follow live route, site and service instructions using mobile technology
- Inspect, fuel, clean and prepare your assigned truck and equipment before and after shifts
- Complete quality-control checks and promptly report hazards, damage or service concerns
- Assist with physical snow-removal work when required, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 lb
- Follow all safety rules, operating procedures and site-specific requirements
THE SCHEDULE: WINTER DECIDES WHEN WE WORK
This is an emergency-response, weather-dependent position—not a regular Monday-to-Friday schedule.
You must be genuinely available on short notice at any time of day or night throughout the contract, including overnight, early-morning, weekend and holiday shifts.
When snow or freezing rain requires service, attendance is mandatory for all scheduled shifts. Shifts vary with each event and may be extended during major storms.
Before applying, make sure your other employment, school, family and personal commitments are compatible with true weather-driven availability.
WHAT YOU NEED
- A valid Ontario G-class driver’s licence
- A clean driver’s abstract; one minor infraction may be acceptable
- Safe and confident winter driving ability in Toronto traffic and tight urban properties
- Reliable transportation to one of our yards when called for work
- Residence within approximately 45 minutes of our West Yard in North York or East Yard in Scarborough
- A modern smartphone with voice, text and data service
- The ability to safely perform outdoor and physical work in difficult winter conditions
- Strong reliability, judgment, communication and respect for your crew
- Comfort using mobile apps for dispatch, directions, timekeeping and task completion
Rookie applicants should have at least one year of commercial driving experience and meaningful outdoor or physical-work experience. You must be ready to learn, practise and accept coaching.
Higher-level positions and wage rates require proven commercial snow-removal experience, strong urban plowing and salting skills, and a history of safely operating pickup or medium-duty commercial vehicles. Previous leadership experience is an asset.
